What Kinda Place is This?

I'm passing thru a state
I never drove before
My throat was sort of dry
I needed to relax some more

And coming to my right
A flashing neon sign
The place looked up all right
I pulled my truck aside

I was greeted by friendly folks
As soon as I crossed the door
They offered me a beer
I never seen this before

(REFRAIN)

What kinda place is this?
I'm trying to understand
With bunch of friendly folks
They all wanna shake your hand
What kinda place is this?
I'm trying to understand
That only plays Ms. Judy Garland
And Barbra Streisand

I asked, where're all the girls?
They told me, they'll be in a snap
And later they came in pairs
With chain and leather straps

I saw one at the bar
I offered her a drink
She thank me in a deep voice
And followed by a wink

(REFRAIN)

The place was kinda dark
And really kinda mellow
I swear she had an Adam's apple
And a five o'clock shadow

One guy ask me for a dance
I finally realized
I heard of places like this
And I politely declined

(REFRAIN)

When entering a new zone
Check the juke box at first hand
If there's no Hank and Jones
They may ask you to dance

I thanked them for the beer
I hope they understand
I've nothing against Ms. Garland
Or Barbra Streisand

What kinda place is this?
I'm trying to understand
With bunch of friendly folks
They all wanna shake your hand
What kinda place is this?
I'm trying to understand
That only plays Ms. Judy Garland
And Barbra Streisand
